American comedian, writer and improviser Abby Wambaugh made herself known on the UK comedy circuit by becoming a finalist in the 2021 Funny Women Stage Awards, just months after performing stand up for the first time. She an Autumn 2021 Resident of St. Nells Humor Writing Residency (run by New Yorker cartoonist and comedian Emily Flake), and won the 2020 and 2022 Nordvest Improv Festival Maestro competitions.
In 2022 Abby appeared at the Paddy Power Comedy Festival at Iveagh Gardens, opened for Sofie Hagen’s Denmark tour dates, been a guest on Comedians Vs. The News, One Bad Mother, and was shortlisted for the 2022 BBC New Comedy Awards. In 2023 she was chosen for the Pleasance comedy reserve at the Edinburgh Fringe. She regularly hosts and performs in comedy shows in Copenhagen and the UK and co-hosts one of the top podcasts about life in Denmark, Coping in Copenhagen.
Abby has a BA in Humour and Social Change. Her comedy explores gender, parenting, the parts of speech, the personalities of furniture, hummus, loss and includes repeating verbatim a lot of things her mom has said.
